They don’t call dogs man’s best friend for nothin! Dogs are the best – and so are the folks who care for them. First Saturday Lime is an easy and effective way to help:
  • deodorize
  • eliminate parasite larvae
  • repel insects including fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and more
  • prevent the growth of bacteria in places like water bowls
  • neutralize acid from urine
  • reduce the likelihood of harboring infections in equine environments
  • avoid pesticide use - incredibly important!

If possible, avoid pesticides entirely. Many pesticides can cause health problems for your pets, like drooling, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, red and itchy skin, eye irritations, and respiratory problems. Think a little use is okay? Not really. Indirect contact has a big impact too. Pets often bring pesticides inside the house and their bedding by carrying it on their paws or fur.

In addition, our formula is a mineral with alkaline properties and naturally formed calcium so it's also great for repair and restoration of:
  • urine damage to yards and lawns
  • calcium deficiencies in pets and animals

Note: Years of anecdotal evidence from around the world support that in small amounts, First Saturday Lime’s formula is safe when used as directed, even when ingested. How much? Don’t set a bowl of it next to their food but don’t be afraid if some is left over after the applications listed below. Put it this way, it’s made primarily of calcium carbonate, which is regularly used to clean tap water

How to clean pet housing and make pests run

Dog houses and kennels can become plagued of fleas and bacteria.  Use First Saturday Lime to clean your fur babies’ area while protecting them from any toxins and hazardous residue other cleaners can leave behind.

What You’ll Need

  • 5 pounds First Saturday Lime
  • Clean bedding

Directions

  1. Remove pets and all bedding and debris from their housing area.
  2. Wash all blankets, pillows or other bedding materials separately.
  3. Sprinkle thin layer of First Saturday Lime over surface area.
  4. Wait an hour before letting your pet near the area.
  5. Sweep up the loose lime dust.
  6. Put down clean bedding. Note: don't worry about left over First Saturday Lime dust - a small remaining amount acts as an insect repellent when used in bedding.
  7. Enjoy a clean, healthy space for your dogs and pets!

PRO TIP: You can also pour on the base of your fence to keep the neighbor dogs flees from transferring to your yard.

How to fix urine damage or pee spots on yards and lawns

Urine is on the acidic side, so when your dog uses the bathroom in the same spot it will burn your grass.  Luckily, First Saturday Lime is a base and an effective way to balance soil pH levels so grass can grow healthy and strong!

What You’ll Need

  • 5 pounds of First Saturday Lime
  • 1 lawn spreader (recommended for even application)
  • Water and water hose

Note: For optimal results, apply the directions below in the early evening to avoid scorching your grass.

Directions

  1. Load First Saturday Lime in your lawn spreader
  2. Set your lawn spreader to the LOWEST setting and apply one layer across the yard Important: only apply a thin layer to the spots damaged on the lawn. Too much will prevent your lawn from being able to absorb the sun and damage your lawn.
  3. Thoroughly water the application area afterwards.
PRO TIP: Apply monthly or whenever that familiar film or algae or moss appears in their water trough.

How to control moss and algae in water bowls

Clean, fresh water is critical to the health of pets and humans! Here’s how to avoid potentially dangerous algae and bacteria found in that familiar clear or even green layer of slime that thrives in direct sunlight and heat and forms in pet water bowls.

What You’ll Need

  • First Saturday Lime
  • Water
  • Clean water bowl

Directions

  1. Empty and thoroughly clean your pets water bowl.
  2. Fill the water bowl with fresh, clean water.
  3. Pour a thin layer of First Saturday Lime over the surface of the water bowl.
  4. Reapply monthly or whenever that appears in their water bowl.
  5. Enjoy!
