Control moss and algae in water bowls, pans and toughs

Control moss and algae in water bowls, pans and toughs

The American Association of Poultry says a critical “prime” element of poultry health is clean water that’s free of microbial contamination – especially because they consume water at twice the level of feed. But, the truth is, the same can be said of animals and human health.

In general, keeping water clean is basic prevention against potentially dangerous algae and bacteria. But extra help from nature is welcomed and necessary year round – not just the summer months. Keep reading to learn an easy way to protect life and avoid that familiar layer of scum-like-slime that thrives in direct sunlight and heat and grows algae or moss in pet and animal water sources. Before you know it, you’ll have a much healthier, odor free water bowl your animals will enjoy much more!

 What you’ll need

  • First Saturday Lime

Directions

  1. Empty and clean your animal’s water bowl, pan or trough thoroughly.
  2. Once clean, add fresh clean water.
  3. Pour a thin layer of First Saturday Lime over the surface of the water bowl, pan or trough.
  4. Enjoy!

Key Tip: Reapply monthly or whenever a film, algae or moss begins to appear in their water pan.
